RM-Trucks has been a member of The Finnish
Car Dismantling Association for several years. To become a member
one must have a valid environmental licence and approved waste disposal
techniques.
Dismantling is a large and messy job, and therefore, it is very important to keep everything in order and handle toxic waste with care. Many spare parts are created every time a vehicle is dismantled, which must be sorted correctly. If this is not adhered to, our business premises will rapidly become cluttered, resulting in confusion.
We aim to recycle and reuse as much as possible; presently we are recycling at a level of 85-90%.
The re-use of spare parts is economically important to many purchasers, who rely on our services to help control their costs.
Scrapyard salesmen usually help to develop environmental protection by collecting vehicles. Due to this, backyards are much cleaner than in the past.
Today we have a 1.4 ha asphalt area for an oil-separating sewer. Our new vehicle draining hall plays an important role of our environmental protection. This means that vehicles can undergo oil removal straight away. The toxic waste is stored until it is picked up.
It is important to be environmentally friendly, whatever the cost. The state has profited throughout the years by taxing vehicles. Therefore, the state should take some responsibility and support environmental work, or raise the investment taxation deduction of authorised companies. With the right support, we would achieve dismantling work of even better quality.

- Spare parts, engines, gearboxes and cabins are sold to repair
shops, insurance companies, transport companies and private firms.
- Tyres are sold to freight companies, tyre salesmen, farmers, and
producers of blasting mats.
- Frames, cover-structures, and axles are sold as raw material for
tractor-trailers.
- The remainder of the waste is sorted and later gathered by Stena
Metall, among others. RM-Trucks has a contract with Stena Metall to
collect metal waste.
- Approved firms, such as Ekokem Oy Ab, Kuljetusliike Moduvia Oy, Lassila &
Tikanoja and Suomen Rengaskierrätys Oy regularly retrieve toxic
waste like oil, refrigerator liquids, batteries, and paint-waste, etc.
